Here is detailed tutorial how to create account and a channel on Joystream video platform.
Have you ever heard about crypto video platform that owned, controlled and operated by its users?
Joystream is a decentralized online media platform powered by the Polkadot blockchain.
Very soon Joystream you will be able to cash out your videos with crypto which you can convert to real money.
So how to create account on Joystream Platform?
Step-by-step guide:
2. Now you have to create your account in Joystream Studio. So press SIGN IN
3. Now press “Install Extension” button and you will be redirected to a Polkadot browser extension window.
If you already have it installed then skip to Step 10 if not, we have to install Polkadot extension by pressing “Install extension” button.
4. Choose browser that you are using (Firefox in my case) and press Download for Firefox.
5. You will be redirected to plug-ins page. You have to press “Add to Firefox”
6. Now allow to perform adding on top left corner near adress line.
7. Then you will recieve message that extension is added. Where you can press “Ok”.
8. Then new window should open in right corner. Press “Understood, let me continue”.
9. Now we move back to Joystream Tab and reload page. And allowing Joystream access.
10. After that we press Polkadot icon on top right corner.
Me currently don’t have any accounts for Joystream on Polkadot. So we have to create one to sign transactions in Polkadot blockchain. so we press “+” icon in Polkadot extension window.
11. Now we have to !!!SAVE!!! Mnemomic phrase, to recover account if you forget password!!!
And put a tick to confirm that you saved phrase carefully.
Now press “Next Step”.
12. Now write name for account. For example Joystream. And insert password that you will be using to perform any operation in Joystream (uploading videos, signing transactions etc.) And press “Add the account with generated seed”.
13. After that your account will be displayed in a window. So all you have to do is to press on it and then press “Connect account”.
14. Read and scroll down the Terms of Service. And press “Accept Terms”
15. Put a URL (link) of preferred avatar in URL tab
Put Member handle with small letters in Member handle tab
Write something about yourself in “About” tab
16. Now we are creating our channel. Add avatar and cover image.
Fulfill the description of your channel and choose language.
Choose you privacy option Public or Private.
And press “Create channel” in bottom right corner.
Now put yout Password (not a mnemonic phrase) to your polkadot account that we created earlier. And press “sign the transaction”
Voila! We created our own account and chanel on Joystream. And now you are ready to upload your amazing videos!
